VIM DP-R’s top silicone layer has been developed to sustain harsh abrasive conditions without developing scratches on the plate surface. As a result our plates exhibit perfect repeatability throughout the print run without the typical micronic scratches that develop on other plates after a few thousand impressions.

The extra smooth and uniform surface of the VIM DP-R’s silicon layer produces outstanding ink repelling qualities. This feature is of extreme importance to the image reproduction quality as it significantly reduces ‘blanket toning’, which typically develops throughout the course of the print run. Moreover, VIM DP-R’s ink repellency feature is responsible for its excellent skin tone and flat tone reproduction.
VIM DP-R’s base polyester layer is designed to withstand strong pulling forces without deformation to its dimensions. This high dimensional stability enables accurate positioning of the plate on the drum, resulting in perfect image registration per plate and between each of the four colours. This high dimensional stability also prevents any core indentation marks on the plate and the print.
The very high laser sensitivity of the middle ablative layer gives the VIM DP-R’s most distinctive reproduction qualities. Superb uniformity of the imaged area, very high density printing and minimal dot gain fluctuations result in significant expansion of the press colour reproduction performance.
